COVID 19

JB Opticians is working hard to ensure continued service during the pandemic.
As a primary care provider for the NHS, it is vital that the practice remains open at this time. Routine sight tests have been suspended, however, the following services will continue to be provided:
  • Services to support vulnerable people in the community. Staff will travel free of charge to the door of patients who are unable to visit the practice. This will be for the delivery of contact lenses, solutions and spectacles.
  • Repairs to existing spectacles. These will be delivered back to you as soon as possible.
  • Replacement of damaged or broken spectacles. We will always try to do this remotely where possible so reducing your need to visit the practice.
  • Emergency eye care. This is required to deflect patients away from hospitals. Remote consultations will be done where possible, over the phone or via a video link. We will only perform face to face consultations if absolutely necessary. If you require emergency eye care but are displaying any COVID-19 symptoms, please call NHS 111, who will direct you to the appropriate regional eye care centre.
  • Contact lens patients. We are working with our suppliers to arrange direct delivery to your home address, rather than you needing to collect your lenses from the practice. If you are due a contact lens check, you may receive a phone call for a remote consultation.

Special attention is being made to regular disinfection of all practice equipment to provide a safe environment if a patient attends for an emergency appointment. These are unprecedented and difficult times, however we will endeavour to continue providing the same high level of care that our patients are accustomed to.

For further information or advice please ring Karen on 01663 733861 or 0161 480 7423. Alternatively, email jb-opticians@btconnect.com.

We know how difficult and worrying these times are for patients. Please be assured that we will do all we can to meet your eye care needs for as long as possible. Our thoughts are with you all, and we really appreciate your ongoing support. Above all, stay safe!
